White long-haired cats need extra care because dust, tear stains, and mats show quickly. A gentle, repeated routine is much more effective than waiting until tangles become severe.
At-home coat routine
Start by brushing through the coat layer by layer, especially around the chest, belly, and tail. For marks near the eyes, wipe in one direction with a soft cloth and warm water instead of rubbing hard.
- Brush the easy-mat areas briefly every day.
- Bathe only when needed, using shampoo made for cats.
- Dry the coat fully after bathing to prevent damp skin.
Reduce tangles from the inside
Good fatty acids support healthier skin and softer fur. Combine pate, vet-guided fish oil, and long-hair cat food if your cat often brings up hairballs.
