A simple routine for brushing, bathing, and feeding long-haired cats for a glossy coat.

White long-haired cats: keeping the coat fluffy and mat-free

White long-haired cats need extra care because dust, tear stains, and mats show quickly. A gentle, repeated routine is much more effective than waiting until tangles become severe.

At-home coat routine

Start by brushing through the coat layer by layer, especially around the chest, belly, and tail. For marks near the eyes, wipe in one direction with a soft cloth and warm water instead of rubbing hard.

  • Brush the easy-mat areas briefly every day.
  • Bathe only when needed, using shampoo made for cats.
  • Dry the coat fully after bathing to prevent damp skin.

Reduce tangles from the inside

Good fatty acids support healthier skin and softer fur. Combine pate, vet-guided fish oil, and long-hair cat food if your cat often brings up hairballs.
